Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster Charge Line Kit for flat towed vehicles on a 2020 Chevrolet Spark. A charging line is an easy addition to a flat towed vehicle. It's very simple to install, but it's a really nice feature, and if it saves you from having to charge your battery before using your towed vehicle once, I think it pays itself off. And pretty simple, it ties into your six pole up front, and you just simply run that wire to a circuit breaker where you attach a ring terminal, and then from there, you connect another ring terminal to a wire that goes directly to your battery. And all that's gonna do is send that power via the umbilical from the 12 volt power on the RV to the battery here. And that way, it trickle charges as you go along. more

On some vehicles, it requires a battery disconnect or it requires a battery to be disconnected, in order to flat tow it. The reason is, is the key has to be in the ignition in the on position, so that the steering wheel doesn't lock. more

Connor: Hey, everyone, Connor here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect, here, for our 2020 Chevy Spark. The automatic battery disconnect here is going to be an excellent option here for our Chevy Spark. And the reason for this, mainly the main reason here is that our owner's manual does allow for this vehicle to be flat-towed if it has a manual transmission. However, in order to do this, we do need to disconnect the battery. There's usually a couple of reasons behind this, such as battery drain while our vehicle is in-tow, as well as sometimes disabling some of the components on the vehicle so it can be flat-towed without damage.The automatic battery disconnect isn't a requirement, although it is required that we disconnect our battery here. more

Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Spark, you're going to be taking a look at, and I'm going to show you how to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles, part number RN-156-25.What the charge line is going to do for us, it's going to allow us to charge the battery while the vehicle is being towed or flat towed. Why you would need a charge line, one of the main reasons is the key has to be in the on position having the accessories on in the vehicle. The accessories are on, you're traveling eight hours or so, the battery is going to run down. This is going to allow you to charge your battery through your RV or from your RV with the key in the on position.First thing we're going to do is mount the circuit breaker. You're going to notice on your circuit breaker you have a gold post and a silver post. The silver post is going to be auxiliary, gold post is going to be battery. more

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Spark- Video
Today in our 2017 Chevrolet Spark, we'll be installing the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for towed vehicles, part number RM-156-25. This Roadmaster Towed Vehicle Charge Line kit coupled with our towed vehicle lighting system connected here will allow our battery to be charged on our vehicle when it's flat-towed behind our RV. Because of this vehicle, in order to flat-tow it, you need to have the key in the accessory position so the steering wheel's on unlocked. This will prevent the battery from being run down while you're flat-towing. That way when you arrive at your destination, and you want to drive your vehicle around town, you can still do that because your car will start right up. To begin our install, we already have our charge line wire here, this red wire, ran through our fascia with our four pole flat wiring here that we're using for our towed vehicle lighting system. more
